Frontier League Set to Become the National
Association of Professional Baseball (NAPB)
Beginning in the 2027 Season.

The Longest Running MLB Partner League in North America Adopts Historic Moniker to Signal a New Era of Community Impact and Growth

Avon, Ohio – The Frontier League, a Professional Partner League of Major League Baseball and the longest-running independent baseball organization in North America, announced today a comprehensive brand transformation. Beginning in the 2027 baseball season, the league will compete as the National Association of Professional Baseball (NAPB).

The rebranding process began in the fall of 2024 when Frontier League’s Board of Directors formed a Strategic Planning Committee to evaluate their current position and future opportunities in the professional baseball structure. The Committee was composed of team owners with a variety of professional sports experience, ranging from people with more than 20
years in the Frontier League to those new to the league but with an extensive background in the sports and entertainment industry.

“With the tremendous growth over the past five years, highlighted by our expansion into Canada along with the Northeast and Southeast in the United States, our Board felt that it was the appropriate time for a detailed study of both our current role and future opportunities,” commented league commissioner Steve Tahsler. “Working with an outside facilitator, the
Strategic Planning Committee determined that we had outgrown the Frontier League brand, and that National Association of Professional Baseball better identified our current structure and future goals.”

The strategic visioning and rebranding process are both being led by BLDG, a consultancy firm out of Covington, Kentucky. BLDG previously oversaw the 2020 rebranding of the Florence Y’alls team along with the 2025 brand refresh of the Windy City ThunderBolts.

The transition follows a landmark 2025 season where the league set its fourth consecutive attendance record and led the four Partner Leagues in player contracts transferred to MLB organizations. The league’s 34-year history, statistics, and records, along with those of the individual teams, will still remain.

“It is important that we continue to recognize the efforts, passion, and achievements of the thousands of players, staff, employees, and supporters whose dedication has allowed us to be an integral part of our communities for over three decades,” continued Tahsler. “A key factor throughout the visioning and rebranding process was to balance retaining our history while
planning for the future.”

“North America’s Home Teams”

The NAPB brand strategy centers on the concept of being “North America’s Home Teams,” positioning each of the 18 clubs as a vital community asset. The league and individual teams have a unique ability to balance the fun of an entertainment venue, the ability to create unique marketing platforms for businesses, and the seriousness of professional baseball.

Visual Identity & Heritage
The new visual identity bridges the gap between baseball’s rich 1901 heritage and a clean, modern aesthetic. The new “NA” monogram, adorned with a signature pennant flag, will be featured prominently on all team uniforms, digital platforms, and league broadcasts beginning in the 2027 season. The visual identity also includes French versions, driving the inclusion of our teams in Canada.

“While our branding is being updated, our core mission will remain the same,” added Tahsler. “We strive to be a positive, contributing member to each of our communities while providing players and staff the opportunity to launch or continue a career in professional baseball.”

The full set of marks will be unveiled during the 2026 Home Run Derby, being held on Tuesday, July 14 at Florence’s Thomas More Stadium.

“Bould” Moves This Week – Volume 6
Boulders Bring Back Bice, Add a Columbia Lion

Pomona, NY – The New York Boulders and manager TJ Stanton are excited to announce the return of right-handed pitcher Emmett Bice and the arrival of rookie outfielder Skye Selinsky for the upcoming 2026 Frontier League season:

Bice, who turns 26 on April 13, established himself as a durable & dependable starter during his rookie season in Pomona, making the second most starts (15) and logging the second-most innings (86 1/3) behind only Garrett Cooper. The College of Charleston grad hails from West Chester, PA, and averaged 10.3 strikeouts per nine innings over his career with the Cougars.

Stanton says “We are really excited Bice in year two, building off the experiences (both good and bad) of 2025. We’re banking on Emmett’s ability to get ground balls with his sinking arsenal and lead us to wins with his competitive and ‘attack hitters’ mentality, which should play well on the stadium’s new turf.”

New to the ballclub for ’26 is Selinsky, a 23-year-old California native who spent all four seasons of his collegiate career at Columbia University, earning All-Ivy League First Team honors a er his junior campaign (2024) as he was one of two Lions to start all 44 games, tieed the program record with 21 doubles (one shy of the Ivy League record), smacked 11 home runs, racked up 45 RBI, and finished with a .990 fielding percentage (one error in 104 chances). Skye’s patience at the plate paid off in a career 80 walks drawn, the sixth-most in history for a program that dates back to 1888.

Boulders Returning Two RHP’s

Pomona, NY – The New York Boulders and manager TJ Stanton are excited to announce the return of two outstanding right-handed pitchers
for the upcoming 2026 Frontier League season:

Garrett Cooper was the 2025 team leader in wins (9), starts (17) and innings pitched (96.0), the second me in three seasons he ranked first on the Boulders in the la er two categories (15 starts, 85.2 IP in 2023).

On May 24, 2025, “Coop” pitched what, to that point, was considered the most dominant 9-inning game in franchise history: A complete game shutout in Ottawa, where he held the Titans to just two hits and one walk while striking out four in a 7-0 win.

Scott Harper was second last season in the Frontier League with 50 appearances, while his 56.0 innings pitched ranked third across the circuit among exclusively relievers, and the 24-year-old’s 55 strikeouts were the fi h-most for strictly relief pitchers.

Boulders Add Solid Southpaw Starter

Pomona, NY – The New York Boulders and manager TJ Stanton are thrilled to announce the following addition for the upcoming 2026 Frontier League season:

Left-handed pitcher Alex Barker comes to Rockland County after spending parts of the last two seasons with the division rival New Jersey Jackals, making 24 appearances (all starts) at an average of 5 2/3 innings per outing.

The 27-year-old Newark, DE, native distinguished himself as a solid two-way player for Monmouth University, averaging nearly 10 strikeouts per 9 innings in his three seasons on the mound for the Hawks (2021-2023) while slugging a career-high 10 home runs in the designated hitter role during his junior campaign (2022).

Stanton calls Barker “a huge add to the rotation, having shown in two seasons of Frontier League action that he is a big game pitcher and is extremely excited to help push the Boulders!”

TJ went on say that “adding a cornerstone personality to our already stellar clubhouse adds even more grit, and I couldn’t be happier.”

The 2026 Frontier League calendar features an expanded 102-game schedule, with the Boulders set to play a league-high 54 home games. Opening night is scheduled for May 7th at Clover Stadium against the Brockton Rox.
